LAIT911, a Los Angeles non-profit organization committed to keeping our communities informed and safe during disasters, is excited to announce a new initiative that further extends our mission into proactive public health and safety and well-being across California.

LAIT911 is working to create a new resource designed to support our communities during extreme heat conditions. We seek to enhance public safety, particularly for our most vulnerable populations, including homeless individuals, low-income families, seniors, and those with disabilities, by providing timely access to cooling centers, real-time weather forecasts, and essential safety advice.

As we prepare for the go-to-market (GTM) phase of this project, initially launching in key counties including Los Angeles, Ventura, San Diego, Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties, we are calling on passionate and dedicated volunteers to join our GTM team. Your involvement will be pivotal in driving the success of this project, ensuring that this vital resource reaches those who need it the most, especially during life-threatening heatwaves.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement GTM strategies to effectively reach and engage our target audiences.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a cohesive launch plan.
  • Analyze feedback, analytics and trends, providing insight to optimize outreach efforts.

Why Volunteer?

  • Make a Difference: Contribute to a project with the potential to save lives and significantly reduce heat-related illnesses in our communities.
  • Gain Experience: Be part of a dynamic team executing a strategic GTM plan, perfect for those looking to enhance their skills in marketing, community outreach, technology, and more.
  • Join a Community of Changemakers: Work alongside like-minded individuals committed to making California a safer, more inclusive place for everyone.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Individuals passionate about climate action, public health, and community service.
  • Strong background in marketing, business, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset.
  • Able to consistently dedicate ~10+ hours per week to the project. Flexibility is a must.
  • Located anywhere throughout Southern California – completely remote; all you need is a laptop and internet connection.

If you’re inspired to take part in this crucial initiative and lend your skills and enthusiasm to our GTM team, please send a brief overview of your background, skillset and general availability to [email protected].
