We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing and reducing the occurrence and impact of wildfires on our communities and natural resources. We are seeking a talented and motivated volunteer software developer to join our team and help us achieve our mission.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects that support our efforts in disaster prevention and recovery. Some examples of tasks you may be asked to work on include:

  • Developing and maintaining our web-based application – the Los Angeles Incident Tracker
  • Collaborating with our team to design and implement data management systems to support our research and analysis efforts.
  • Helping to maintain and improve our existing software infrastructure.

We are looking for someone with strong skills in software development, as well as a passion for using their skills to make a difference in the world. The ideal candidate will have experience with web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP. Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems is a plus.

This is a volunteer position, with a flexible schedule and the ability to work remotely. While we cannot offer financial compensation, we can provide valuable experience and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on an important cause.
