LAIT911 is seeking a skilled SDR (Software-Defined Radio) Technician to join our team of dedicated volunteers. As an SDR Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our incident analyst team by managing and maintaining our SDR stack, which includes LAPD, LAFD, CHP, and LA County FD radio systems. Your responsibilities will include system configuration, troubleshooting, and ensuring the smooth operation of these critical communication systems.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain our SDR stack
- Configure and optimize SDR hardware and software
- Perform routine maintenance and upgrades to ensure system reliability
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner
- Collaborate with the incident analyst team to ensure seamless integration and functionality of the SDR systems
- Stay updated on the latest SDR technologies and recommend improvements or enhancements as needed
Requirements:
- Strong technical knowledge and experience working with SDR systems
- Familiarity with LAPD, LAFD, CHP, and/or LA County FD communication systems
- Proficiency in configuring and optimizing SDR hardware and software
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues effectively
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Availability to dedicate a minimum number of hours per week to the role
