Are you a GIS professional looking to make a positive impact on the world? We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing and reducing the occurrence and impact of wildfires and other disasters on our communities and natural resources. We are seeking a talented and motivated volunteer GIS analyst to join our team and help us achieve our mission.

In this role, you will be responsible for using GIS tools and techniques to support our efforts in wildfire prevention and recovery. Some examples of tasks you may be asked to work on include:

  • Analyzing spatial data to identify patterns and trends related to disaster risk and impact.
  • Developing maps and other visualizations to communicate findings and support decision-making.
  • Collaborating with our team to develop and maintain GIS databases and systems, both public-facing and internal

We are looking for someone with strong skills in GIS, as well as a passion for using their skills to make a difference in the world. The ideal candidate will have experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS or QGIS, and be proficient in using spatial data and analysis tools. Familiarity with programming languages such as Python is a plus.

This is a volunteer position, with a flexible schedule and the ability to work remotely. While we cannot offer financial compensation, we can provide valuable experience and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on an important cause.
